Software Updates

For users of Windows, Mac OS X or Linux, software updates are probably the most important thing you can do to keep your computer reasonably secure.

Security and feature updates are released for all of these operating systems on a regular basis - sometimes weekly.

Windows users should make sure they have Automatic Updates enabled.

Mac OS X users will have the Software Update feature enabled by default, however you should check your settings in the System Preferences to make sure software updates have not been disabled.

Linux users should consult their system documentation, as software update features vary by Linux distribution.
