MCN Acceleration Services

MCN is pleased to offer to our customers the MCN Accelerator, a subscription based service that is intended to increase the speed of dialup, ISDN, cable internet and slower DSL connections.

Download the Newest Version of the MCN Accelerator: Released 11/2009 - Version 6.1.2.1 for all Windows OS's including Windows 7 and Version 5.2.0.5006 for all Macintosh OS's including 10.6, Leopard. See download links below.

Existing customers should download the newest accelerator installer and run it. It will uninstall your old version and then install the new version. 

The MCN Accelerator increases the speed of most dialup connections by 3 to 7 times, and the more you use it--the better it gets. The MCN Accelerator is a small piece of software that is easily downloaded and installed.

Only $1.25 a month! The first month is free, after that the charges will appear on your regular MCN bill each month. For less than 5 cents a day ($1.25 per month) you can speed up your connection and make the most of your MCN Internet experience. 

We suggest that everyone visit the MCN Accelerator Information Page which contains lots of information about the MCN Accelerator and how it works.

Ready to go? Call MCN at 937-1444 or (800) 796-3896 and ask to have the MCN Accelerator enabled for your account or send e-mail to support@mcn.org. Then follow these easy steps.

1. Download the correct software installer for your operating system.

2. Read the installation instructions and install the software
Note: If you are not 100% confident about installing the software, please do it during MCN's business hours (9-6 M-F) when the MCN staff can help you if you have problems.

3. Set your e-mail to use outgoing authentication. The MCN Accelerator requires you to use outgoing e-mail authentication. This may require you to make a change to your e-mail program. To learn more, please visit our MCN Outgoing Authentication page.

PLEASE NOTE: To view the MCN White Pages directory you must turn the MCN Accelerator to the "off" position.

4. Learn More The MCN Accelerator is a rich program with lots of features. We suggest that everyone using the MCN Accelerator take a moment and read the MCN Accelerator User Guide to make the most out of their MCN Accelerator.

5. Uninstalling the MCN Accelerator:
WINDOWS: Click on the START menu and click on ALL PROGRAMS.  Put your curser over the "MCN Accelerator" Folder and to the right a drop-down menu will appear.  Click twice on "Uninstall MCN Accelerator".

MAC: An uninstall program is in the folder downloaded when you download the Mac Accelerator.  If you no longer have it on your computer than click on this link to download the Accelerator FolderMac Accelerator Folder (with Uninstaller)
